- Anticipate material needs from work sequences and raise Purchase Requests (PRs) for logistics consumables (e.g. hoist bolts, ramps, edge protection) for approval in line with the Delegations of Authority.
- Liaise daily with the Appointed Person / Crane Coordinator and report lifting changes immediately; manage hoists, ramps, access routes and the allocation of cranes, forklifts and telehandlers.
- Ensure lift plans, certificates and thorough examinations are current at the time of lifting; oversee lifting accessory inspections and documented daily checks; quarantine defective equipment.
- Manage waste in line with the Project Waste Management Plan, and champion innovative pilots in this discipline.
- Ensure ground conditions and access routes are safe before plant is used; implement the traffic plan, supervise flagmen, and ensure signage, barriers, exclusion zones and pedestrian and vehicle segregation are in place before operations commence.
- Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks and DSTI (Daily Safety Task Instructions) sessions, and ensure Foremen communicate method statements to ground teams.
- Ensure compliance with site safety, environmental and HSE standards, including safe loading, unloading, storage and housekeeping, in line with the project lift plan, waste management plan and logistics management plan.
- Carry out inspections and audits and close out corrective actions; address safety concerns, investigate incidents and near misses, and manage changes before operations commence.
- Oversee welfare areas and diesel filling logs; liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and plant vendors on servicing, breakdowns, deliveries and off-hiring; work with Stores, Procurement, Construction and Project teams.
- Monitor use of the in-house "Load Gate" mobile application, and train Foremen, Operators, Riggers and Drivers in its use.
- Track and report plant utilisation, fuel consumption and lifting equipment status; review Foremen's timekeeping and records; identify idle plant and cost-saving opportunities using data recorded on Load Gate or other digital platforms; verify data for cost control and contra charging.
- Lead daily and weekly look-ahead meetings, and report delays, access issues, resource constraints and logistics risks.
- Coach and mentor Foremen, set performance expectations and contribute to performance reviews; capture lessons learned and implement improvements.
- Apply technical expertise and discipline-specific knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes within your area of specialisation
- Apply the Company's frameworks to guide role expectations, levels of responsibility, skills, development, and progression.
