Job summary

United Arab Agencies invites a skilled Customs & International Logistics professional to join our team in Dubai. You will manage clearance processes, liaise with customs, and ensure accurate declarations and documentation to avoid delays.

With 3–5 years in customs brokerage or international logistics, you will leverage ERP tools and regulatory expertise to optimize duties, support licenses, and ensure compliant, timely releases of goods across global markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field.
  • Customs Broker license or equivalent certification is highly advantageous.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
  • Experience navigating complex customs regulations in regions (EU, US, Asia).
  • Proficiency in customs clearance software and ERP systems.
  • Strong ability to interpret tariff schedules and HS codes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with authorities and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and clients to resolve discrepancies during clearance.
  • Submit accurate and timely customs declarations and documentation to government agencies to prevent delays.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, tariff codes, and trade agreements for compliance and optimized duties.
  • Coordinate inspection and release of goods with port authorities, warehouses, and transport providers.
  • Identify and classify goods using HS codes to ensure correct duties and taxes.
  • Manage import/export licenses, permits, and certificates for specific commodities/destinations.
  • Conduct pre-clearance checks on documentation to minimize holds or rejections.

Job description

  • Liaise directly with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and clients to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the clearance process.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all customs declarations and related documentation to government agencies, preventing delays and penalties.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant customs regulations, tariff codes, and trade agreements to ensure compliance and optimize duty payments.
  • Coordinate the inspection and release of goods, working closely with port authorities, warehouses, and transportation providers.
  • Identify and classify goods accurately using the Harmonized System (HS) codes to ensure correct duty and tax assessments.
  • Manage and process import/export licenses, permits, and certificates required for specific commodities or destinations.
  • Conduct pre-clearance checks on documentation to anticipate and mitigate potential customs holds or rejections.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • Possession of a recognized Customs Broker license or equivalent certification is highly advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex customs regulations and compliance requirements in specific regions (e.g., EU, US, Asia).
  • Proficiency in using customs clearance software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to interpret tariff schedules and identify correct HS codes.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with customs officials and stakeholders.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
