Job summary

SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences is a luxury 5-star hotel in Downtown Dubai seeking a dedicated cook to join the busy kitchen. You will prepare and cook ingredients, ensure proper portions and garnishes, and maintain hygiene and safety standards in a high-end setting.

The role requires at least two years of kitchen experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while delivering exemplary guest service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of cooking/kitchen experience in an accredited restaurant or hotel.
• One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
• Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning and storing.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or judgment.
• Wash and prepare fruits and vegetables for cooking or consumption.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes.
• Serve food in proper portions and ensure plate appearance.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish for service.
• Maintain clean storage areas and follow HACCP guidelines.
• Follow personal hygiene procedures to ensure safe food for guests.
