Job summary

SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences in Downtown Dubai is seeking a Chef de Partie to support daily food preparation in a luxury 5-star setting. The role involves assisting the kitchen team, preparing mise en place, and ensuring quality and portion control across all outlets.

You will maintain high standards, follow food safety procedures, and contribute to a smooth service during busy periods in a renowned Ennismore property under the Accor umbrella.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of cooking/kitchen experience in an accredited restaurant or hotel.
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and other kitchen team members with daily food preparation and cooking activities.
• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, sauces, garnishes, and other mise en place as instructed.
• Ensure all food items are prepared according to the required recipes, standards, and portion sizes.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, taste, and consistency.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies while following proper storage and FIFO procedures.
• Keep the assigned workstation, kitchen equipment, and preparation areas clean and organized at all times.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards and hotel procedures.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, dating, and storage of food items to minimize waste and prevent contamination.
• Assist with buffet, restaurant, banquet, and other kitchen operations as required.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and inform the Chef de Partie of shortages or items requiring replenishment.
• Minimize food wastage by using ingredients efficiently and following proper preparation techniques.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunction or maintenance requirements to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift.
• Follow all health, safety, fire, and hygiene regulations within the kitchen.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.
