Job summary

The SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences is seeking a motivated Chef de Partie to assist the kitchen team in daily food preparation and service in our luxury hotel. You will prepare ingredients, maintain high standards of quality and presentation, and support the kitchen during busy periods while following safety and hygiene procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of cooking/kitchen experience in an accredited restaurant or hotel.
• One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale brand hotel.
• Strong English communication and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and other kitchen team members with daily food preparation and cooking activities.
• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, sauces, garnishes, and other mise en place as instructed.
• Ensure all food items are prepared according to required recipes, standards, and portion sizes.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, taste, and consistency.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies while following FIFO procedures.
• Keep workstation and preparation areas clean and organized at all times.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards and hotel procedures.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, dating, and storage of food items to minimize waste.
• Assist with buffet, restaurant, banquet, and other kitchen operations as required.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor stock levels and inform Chef de Partie of shortages.
• Minimize food wastage by using ingredients efficiently.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report malfunctions.
• Assist with cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift.
• Follow health, safety, fire, and hygiene regulations within the kitchen.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.
