Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a hands-on Lead Technician for connected chillers in Dubai (Al Quoz). You will review alarms, verify equipment condition, coordinate with field teams, and identify service opportunities, driving actions through to closure.

Role requires extensive HVAC field experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to track outcomes across alarms, site visits and quotations. Occasional travel to customer sites is possible.

Qualifications

• Diploma, associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, or related discipline.
• Typically 5+ years hands-on HVAC service experience with chillers (air- or water-cooled).
• Ability to interpret alarms, data, trends, and manuals; diagnose site issues and scope repairs.
• Experience with chiller controllers, BMS integration, remote monitoring, and basic network issues.

Responsibilities

• Review and prioritize alarms for connected chillers; focus on critical and high-risk cases.
• Diagnose using alarm data, trends and service history; distinguish real faults from nuisance alarms.
• Coordinate follow-up with field teams; define actions, owners, and closure dates.
• Escalate safety-related conditions and support troubleshooting with clear technical info.
• Maintain trackers for alarms, site visits, quotations, and outcomes.
• Visit sites to verify findings and define rectification scope.
• Prepare technical recommendations including parts, labor, urgency, and evidence.
• Support commercial cycle by clarifying scope and handing to operations.
