Johnson Controls in Dubai is seeking a hands-on chiller specialist to review alarms, validate equipment condition, coordinate follow-up with field teams, and identify service opportunities across the connected chiller portfolio.
You will work with field teams, remote operations, and sales to diagnose issues, prepare technical recommendations, and drive actions through to closure, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction.
Johnson Controls delivers connected service support that helps customers improve equipment reliability and respond faster to emerging issues. This role turns remote insights into practical field action across the connected chiller portfolio, working closely with service, remote operations, and sales teams.
We are looking for a hands-on chiller specialist who can review alarms, validate equipment condition, coordinate follow-up with field teams, and identify service opportunities. The role combines technical diagnosis, customer communication, and disciplined tracking through to closure.
Review and prioritize open alarms across the connected chiller portfolio, with focus on critical, repeated, and high-risk conditions. Use alarm data, trends, operating parameters, service history, and remote diagnostics to separate real equipment issues from communication, sensor, configuration, or nuisance alarms. Run regular review sessions with HVAC field line managers and team leaders to agree actions, ownership, and target closure dates. Escalate critical or safety-related conditions quickly and support troubleshooting with clear technical information. Maintain accurate trackers for alarms, Virtual Inspection Reports, site visits, opportunities, quotations, and final outcomes. Visit sites when needed to verify findings, diagnose chiller condition, identify root cause, and define rectification scope. Prepare clear technical recommendations, including corrective action, required parts, estimated labor, urgency, and supporting evidence. Support the commercial cycle by clarifying scope, joining customer discussions when needed, and handing work over to operations. Support onboarding of newly connected chillers, including asset data, points availability, alarm setup, communication status, and readiness for monitoring. Identify offline or poorly communicating chillers, coordinate remote troubleshooting, and arrange field intervention where required. Share weekly and monthly updates on critical alarms, aging actions, site visits, opportunities, offline assets, and recurring issues. Build a practical knowledge base of recurring faults, validated alarm signatures, troubleshooting steps, and successful resolutions.
Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity, and close actions through to completion. Stay close to the work, focus on what matters most to customers, and remove obstacles that delay resolution. Use candid review, trend analysis, and practical problem-solving to reduce nuisance alarms and improve portfolio health. Work as one team with field managers, remote operations, sales, and customers to move issues forward quickly.
Diploma, associate degree, or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, or a related technical discipline. Typically 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience, with strong exposure to air-cooled and/or water-cooled chillers. Strong practical knowledge of chiller refrigeration cycles, compressors, evaporators, condensers, cooling-water systems, pumps, valves, sensors, safeties, controls, and common failure modes. Ability to interpret chiller alarms, operating data, trends, controller information, service reports, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Experience diagnosing site issues, defining corrective scopes, identifying required parts, and supporting repair or maintenance quotations. Working knowledge of chiller controllers, BMS integration, remote monitoring, gateways, modems, IP connectivity, and basic network troubleshooting. Comfort using digital service platforms, remote diagnostic tools, dashboards, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and CRM or opportunity-tracking systems. Strong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple alarms, reports, site visits, and stakeholders at once. Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to field teams, sales colleagues, and customers. Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent issues, and drive actions through final closure. Good written and spoken English.
Nice to Have Valid UAE driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites across the assigned territory. Arabic language skills. Experience working in a high-paced service environment with shifting priorities. Experience supporting Virtual Inspection Reports and converting findings into tracked actions or opportunities.
This is a practical, customer-facing role that combines technical depth with visible impact. You will work across field service, remote monitoring, and commercial follow-up, with the chance to support reliability, improve alarm quality, and contribute to a safety-focused, collaborative team.
