Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Product Service Engineer - Controls Platform HMI & Network to provide global technical support across Power Plant Control Systems, HMIs and networks. You will mentor teams through complex inquiries, lead RCA investigations, and communicate technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders.

The role requires 5+ years of direct experience, strong English, and travel of 10–15% within and outside the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years direct experience with HMI platforms, industrial comms interfaces, historians, and industrial cyber security at power plants.
• Proven customer-facing experience.
• Strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical resolution to complex Controls system issues including Mark VI/VIe, HMI platform, industrial networks, historians, and cyber security at power plants.
• Identify trending issues and provide countermeasures; communicate to internal/external audiences.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Management, regional centers, and vendors to resolve issues promptly.
• Lead RCAs with root cause analysis and corrective action, communicating with field teams and leadership.

Job Description

The Lead Product Service Engineer - Controls Platform HMI & Network provides direct technical support to global GE Vernova Gas Power customers across three primary workstreams.

• Resolving or mentoring team through customer technical inquiries via engineering request (ER) cases
• Leading or engaging in complex issues involving Power Plant Control Systems, HMIs, Networks and associated product Cyber Security root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for high business impact issues, often with cross-functional teams.
• Communicating GEV technical guidance to customers or site representatives via user conferences, customer webinars, and technical documents; additionally, communicating technical details and business risks to GE Vernova internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical resolution to multiple complex Controls system issues including Mark VI/VIe Product line, Human Machine Interface (HMI) platform, Industrial communication interface (Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, OPC, Profibus, CAN bus, EGD etc.), historians, and industrial cyber security at power plants with a sense of urgency.
• Identify trending issues and provide countermeasures to protect our customers’ fleet, then communicate to the relevant audience (TILs, PSxBs, ETCs, OnTheGo alerts, etc.)
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Management, Regional Customer Engineering Centers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Vendors, and/or Customers to provide sound technical resolution in a timely manner
• Drive complex RCAs through root cause and corrective action while communicating both internally (field teams, GEV leadership) and externally to end customers
• Lead and promote the GE Vernova Way traits, lean principles, and simplification into day-to-day activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in engineering from accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI) platform, Industrial communication interface (Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, OPC, Profibus, CAN bus, EGD etc.), historians, and industrial cyber security at power plants.
• Proven experience in a customer-facing role
• Strong oral and written communication in English language
• This role requires around 10-15% within and outside of the region

• Self-starter and resourceful problem-solver that can navigate the GE Vernova resource databases and organizations to deliver a solution, with urgency
• Not afraid of being uncomfortable with the specific technical problem and willingness to apply engineering problem-solving methods to resolve the issue, under pressure
• Ability to communicate at all levels (field engineers, site engineers, plant managers, GE Vernova leadership, etc.)
• Ability to rapidly change directions for multiple concurrent projects based on emergent business priorities
• Industry Certifications such as GICSP, CCNP, or ISA/IEC 62443
• Humble, open, collaborative, and continuously learning
• Strong oral and written communication in Arabic language
