Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior Process Engineer to provide technical expertise in process design and ensure compliance with ADNOC standards. You will coordinate with IPMT, EPC Contractors, and ADNOC engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and 15+ years in oil and gas, with strong communication skills and a proven track record in design reviews, option analyses, and project execution within tight time

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical Engineering with 15+ years in oil/gas.
  • Proven ability to review process designs to ADNOC standards.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure integration of overall Process Engineering and coordination within IPMT Process Engineering Team.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Process Engineering design activities.
  • Review and approve Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s work for ADNOC project specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate participation in design option analyses for optimization and validation.
  • Participate in equipment sizing and selection considerations for optimization.
  • Ensure facilities are designed per corporate environment and health guidelines.
  • Maximize utilization of existing facilities while planning for new projects.
  • Participate in layout, model, and design reviews and technical workshops.
  • Provide technical assistance to other discipline engineers and project managers.

Provide technical expertise in all Process design

Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards

Coordinate, Monitor and handle Process design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame

Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity etc.

Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Process Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure integration of overall Process Engineering. Overall coordination within IPMT Process Engineering Team

  • Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.

  • Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.

  • Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.

  • Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.

  • Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.

  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.

  • Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.

  • Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning

  • Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization

  • Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department

  • Interface regularly with Contractor’s Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills

  • Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards

  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software

  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
