Job summary

Wood is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer in Abu Dhabi to provide technical expertise in piping design, ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and project specifications, and drive quality across the design effort.

You will coordinate with IPMT, EPC contractors and engineering consultants, perform regular technical reviews, approve piping deliverables, participate in design option analyses, and support installation and commissioning activities to ensure safe and reliable facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years oil and gas industry experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with international codes and standards.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure integration of overall Piping Engineering within IPMT.
• Review and approve piping design activities by consultants and EPC.
• Coordinate development and analysis of design options and models.
• Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, and technical workshops.
• Provide technical assistance to other discipline engineers.
• Coordinate reviews and bid/ performance evaluations.
• Assist during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning.

Job description

• Provide technical expertise in all Piping design

• Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards

• Coordinate, Monitor and handle Piping design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame

• Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity etc.

• Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Piping Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.

• Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.

• Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.

• Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.

• Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.

• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers

• Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.

• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre‑commissioning & commissioning

• Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization

• Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department

• Interface regularly with Contractor’s Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills

• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards

• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software

• Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
