Job summary

Wood is seeking a senior Process Design Engineer in Abu Dhabi to lead chemical engineering deliverables for ADNOC projects. The role requires extensive oil and gas process engineering experience, and coordination with IPMT, EPC contractors, and ADNOC operations to ensure design quality and compliance.

The candidate will perform technical reviews, support bid and performance evaluation, and guide installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with latest codes

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of oil and gas experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Extensive knowledge of international codes and standards.
• Proficient in engineering software and common business tools.
• Strong independent decision-making and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Ensure integration of overall Process Engineering and coordination within IPMT.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s design activities.
• Review and approve contractor's work to ADNOC specs and standards.
• Participate in design option development and optimization analyses.
• Participate in equipment sizing/selection discussions.
• Ensure facilities meet environment and health guidelines.
• Coordinate technical reviews, bid evaluation, and performance assessment.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Interface with ADNOC discipline team leaders and project managers.

• Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Process Engineering design activities
• Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
• Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
• Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
• Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
• Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.
• Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
• Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning
• Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization
• Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department
• Interface regularly with Contractor’s Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills
• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
• Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
