Job summary

Rejlers International Engineering Solutions in Abu Dhabi seeks a Lead Piping Engineer to lead piping design reviews, deliverables and bid support for major projects in the UAE. You will drive discipline goals with designers and engineers, review client docs, perform lay-out studies, and ensure quality and safety standards.

The role requires 15+ years in piping design within oil & gas, petrochemical or chemical industries, with strong SP3D, MicroStation and AutoCAD skills, and fluent English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 15+ years of piping design engineering experience (ASME B31.3).
• Strong knowledge of piping drawings, layouts, isometrics, and plot plans.
• Proficient in SP3D, MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the design discipline piping engineer and project manager to solve technical problems.
• Review client technical documentation, interpret surveys, and collect data on site.
• Carry out lay-out studies, feasibility studies, and develop piping deliverables.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of piping drawings (layouts, GADs, isometrics, plot plans).
• Organize inputs and supervise piping drawings, supports, and material take-offs.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, energy and environmental objectives.

We are now looking for a Lead Piping Engineer execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi - UAE.

Job Overview

The Lead Piping Engineer is responsible for handling piping design review and lay-out assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

In your role, you will execute piping design deliverables in projects in a safe manner, budget, schedule, and quality.

You should have a desire to work on multi-discipline local as well overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by working together with assigned discipline designers and engineers.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Interact with the Design Discipline Piping Engineer and the project manager for solving technical problems arising during project development
• Ability to review Client's technical documentation and requirements, interpret topographical and geotechnical survey inputs, carry out detailed site surveys, verification, and data collection;
• Carry out lay-out study, tie-in, feasibility study, design basis, independently able to develop piping deliverables.
• Must have good knowledge and understanding of piping drawings (layouts, GAD’s, isometrics, plot plan).
• Able to organize inputs and supervise for preparation of piping drawings, support design, material take-offs
• Understand the interface within the multi-discipline project
• Should take full responsibility for proper and timely execution of project deliverables ensuring full compliance with the quality management system and any project-specific contractual requirements.
• Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management teams.
• Coordinate with members of the piping discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors, etc.
• Participates in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned, and close-out.
• Ability to prepare documents for piping related workshops such as model reviews for lay-out and actively participate in the same
• Should be able to add value plus/ optimization ideas
• Check the piping engineering deliverables created by draughtsman.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Energy and Environmental objectives

Preferred Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical related degree.
• Minimum of 15+ years relevant engineering experience in Piping Design Engineering ASME B31.3.
• Software Skills: SP3D, MicroStation & AutoCAD and Min. 5 years in senior role.
• Good verbal as well written communication skills, leadership and coordination, analytic and pro-active approach competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.
• Willingness to overcome challenges and pressure during the peak of the project.
• Willing to do extensive site-surveys during project execution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent in the English language
