Job summary

AECOM is seeking a meticulous Mechanical Inspector for our Abu Dhabi construction supervision team. You will conduct comprehensive inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and structural systems, ensuring adherence to UAE codes and international standards, while supervising installation and testing to maintain top quality on site.

The role requires 6+ years in mechanical inspection, strong knowledge of mechanical systems, and proven ability to lead contractor teams and document findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in mechanical inspection or related construction field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural).
• Strong understanding of UAE construction codes, building regulations, and international standards.
• Proficiency with technical documentation, blueprint reading, and CAD software.
• Fluent English; Arabic language skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and structural components) per UAE construction regulations and international standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise mechanical contractors and installation teams to ensure work quality and adherence to specifications.
• Verify mechanical systems functionality through testing and commissioning procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve mechanical issues and maintain progress.
• Maintain organized records of inspections, test results, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
• Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and site personnel on procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor mechanical equipment performance and recommend maintenance or replacement strategies.
• Ensure all work meets contractual QA standards throughout the construction lifecycle.
