Job summary

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector for our Abu Dhabi construction supervision team. The role focuses on thorough mechanical inspections, ensuring UAE standards and international codes, and supervising installation and testing of systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with HVAC, plumbing, and structural components, strong documentation skills, and the ability to lead contractors while maintaining quality and safety across projects in the UAE.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of professional experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, construction supervision, or related field.
Strong knowledge of UAE construction codes and international standards.
Proficiency in technical documentation, blueprint reading, and CAD software.
Excellent communication in English; Arabic language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct systematic inspections of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural).
Prepare detailed inspection reports and corrective action recommendations with justification.
Supervise mechanics and installation teams to meet specs and timelines.
Verify systems functionality through testing and commissioning; document results.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve issues and maintain progress.
Maintain organized records for audits and regulatory purposes.
Identify safety hazards and implement preventive actions on site.
Mentor junior inspectors and site personnel on procedures and quality standards.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend maintenance or replacements.
