Job summary

EDGE is seeking a Principal Applied Aerodynamics Engineer in Abu Dhabi to drive aerodynamic concepts for aircraft-level performance. You will own analyses across CFD, wind-tunnel, and experimental methods while developing geometry and validation plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or closely related field.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred in Aerodynamics or CFD.
• 10+ years in aerospace or applied-fluid-dynamics.
• Experience applying aerodynamic analysis to full aircraft or major components.
• Strong knowledge of subsonic to hypersonic aerodynamics as relevant.

Responsibilities

• Develop aerodynamic concepts and configurations to meet mission requirements.
• Define aerodynamic requirements and design objectives for work packages.
• Establish analysis plans using analytical, empirical, CFD, and experimental methods.
• Conduct CFD domain definitions, meshes, turbulence models, and validation criteria.
• Review pressure data, flow topology, shocks, and wakes for legitimate evidence.
• Support wind-tunnel testing, data quality, and prioritization of tests.
• Develop aerodynamic databases for Performance and Flight Qualities, etc.
• Lead significant aerodynamic work packages with limited supervision.
