Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced propulsion performance engineer in Abu Dhabi to develop, model, analyze, maintain and optimize the thermodynamic and aerodynamic performance of new production micro turbojet and turbofan engines. You will work with multidisciplinary teams from concept to service support.

Responsibilities include developing engine cycle models, refining performance models, and coordinating with turbomachinery/combustor teams to meet aerothermal requirements, while supporting test

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical/aerospace or thermal power engineering.
• 4+ years in gas turbine engine performance or equivalent.
• Experience with engine performance modelling tools and scripting languages.
• Knowledge of turbomachinery CFD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop engine cycle models and aerothermal methods for performance estimation.
• Maintain and refine steady-state and transient models and performance decks.
• Translate requirements into performance criteria and design constraints.
• Optimize cycles to balance thrust, SFC and limits for operating points.
• Collaborate with turbomachinery and combustor teams on aerothermal needs.
• Support engine test preparation with predictions and test schedules.
• Analyze test data and compare with model data for alignment.
• Prepare technical reports and best practices.
