Responsibilities

  • Conduct land and field surveys for irrigation, landscaping, and infrastructure construction.
  • Perform geodetic calculations and basic survey computations.
  • Coordinate with clients and contractors to establish and verify project survey requirements.
  • Complete assigned survey activities within schedules, working hours and cost allowances.
  • Check setting-out, coordinates, alignments, dimensions and levels.
  • Locate existing services and protect them during construction.
  • Prepare field sketches and supporting survey information.
  • Maintain organized field books, calculations, sketches, coordinates and records.
  • Verify project control points and benchmarks through routine checks.
  • Record levels and verify cross-sections for earthworks.
  • Assist engineers with checking shop drawings against site conditions.
  • Support as-built drawings and final record drawings.”

Role Context

Accurate survey information is essential for positioning irrigation networks, landscape features, earthworks, and associated infrastructure. Working as part of the site survey team, the Land Surveyor will confirm that construction follows approved coordinates, alignments, elevations, and dimensional requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct land and field surveys for irrigation, landscaping, and infrastructure construction.
  • Perform geodetic calculations and basic survey computations.
  • Coordinate with clients and contractors to establish and verify project survey requirements.
  • Complete assigned survey activities within agreed schedules, working hours, and cost allowances.
  • Check construction setting-out, coordinates, alignments, dimensions, and levels.
  • Locate existing services and support measures required for their protection.
  • Prepare field sketches and supporting survey information.
  • Maintain organized field books, calculations, sketches, coordinates, and measurement records.
  • Verify project control points and benchmarks through routine checks.
  • Confirm the setting-out of irrigation networks, landscaping elements, and related civil works.
  • Record initial, interim, and final levels for completed activities.
  • Check earthwork cross-sections and verify cut and fill measurements.
  • Measure inspected work and provide reliable quantity information.
  • Assist the responsible engineer with checking shop drawings against site conditions.
  • Support the preparation of as-built drawings and review final record drawings.
  • Report discrepancies between approved designs and surveyed construction.
  • Participate actively in project health and safety requirements under the direction of the Resident Engineer.
  • Coordinate professionally with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and the project safety representative.
Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a diploma or associate degree in civil engineering, land surveying, or an equivalent discipline. At least four years of experience inspecting or supervising irrigation and landscaping works on infrastructure construction projects is required. Applicants must understand survey terminology and be able to interpret maps, plats, engineering drawings, specifications, and descriptive survey information. Practical ability to complete field calculations and maintain accurate records is essential. The successful candidate must already be available in the United Arab Emirates and possess recent local experience, preferably gained on projects in Dubai.
