Role Context

The Land Surveyor will provide essential field control for infrastructure construction involving wet utilities, underground networks, and micro tunneling works. Accurate surveying is critical to maintaining alignment, elevation, service protection, excavation control, and construction tolerances. The role will work closely with engineers, contractors, and site teams to verify setting-out information, monitor benchmarks, record completed levels, and maintain reliable survey records throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform land surveys, field measurements, and geodetic calculations for assigned infrastructure works.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and engineering teams to confirm project surveying requirements.
• Complete survey activities in accordance with project schedules, manpower allocations, and established work priorities.
• Verify setting-out coordinates, alignments, elevations, and construction levels before and during execution.
• Check existing service locations and support measures required to protect utilities during construction.
• Conduct routine verification of control points and benchmarks to maintain survey accuracy.
• Confirm the setting-out of wet utilities, micro tunneling works, structures, and associated infrastructure.
• Record initial, intermediate, and final levels for completed construction activities.
• Verify earthwork cross sections and support quantity measurement where required.
• Take field measurements of inspected and completed works for project records.
• Prepare sketches, survey notes, calculations, and supporting documentation for engineering use.
• Maintain organized field books and complete survey records for traceability.
• Assist engineers in checking shop drawings against actual site conditions and survey information.
• Support preparation of as-built drawings using verified field measurements.
• Review as-built record drawings for consistency with completed works.
• Use survey instruments to establish and confirm horizontal and vertical control.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and report them promptly to the responsible engineer.

Ideal Profile

Ideal Profile Candidates should hold a diploma or associate degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or an equivalent technical discipline and have at least 5 years of construction and supervision experience.

• Demonstrated experience on infrastructure projects involving wet utilities and micro tunneling.
• Recent UAE work experience is required, with Dubai project exposure particularly valuable.
• Strong practical capability in setting-out, levelling, control point verification, and construction surveying.
• Knowledge of survey terminology, maps, plans, drawings, specifications, and descriptive field information.
