Job summary

GEMS Education in Dubai seeks a diligent Laboratory Technician to support science labs across the campus. You will prepare equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials for practical lessons, set up and dismantle experiments, and maintain a safe, organized learning environment.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, inventory control, safety inspections, record keeping, and assisting teachers during sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in laboratory-related field.
• Experience in a school, college, university, or research laboratory preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and chemical handling procedures.
• Excellent record keeping skills and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials for science practical lessons.
• Set up and dismantle laboratory experiments before and after classes.
• Ensure laboratories are clean, organized, and safe for staff and students.
• Maintain, calibrate, and perform basic repairs on laboratory equipment.
• Monitor and manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and storing supplies.
• Label, store, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials according to safety regulations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure compliance with school health and safety policies.
• Prepare chemical solutions and specimens as required for practical activities.
• Support science teachers during laboratory sessions and provide technical assistance when needed.
• Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance, chemical usage, and inventory.
• Assist in developing and updating laboratory procedures and safety documentation.
