Job summary

Arada is seeking a Kitchen Technician to install, maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment in a hotel setting. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems, respond to breakdowns promptly, and perform preventive maintenance per schedule.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to work under pressure, including shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI/technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration or related technical field.
• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience as Kitchen Technician or similar role.
• Experience in hotel, hospitality, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment preferred.
• Good knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Kitchen Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment and related systems within the hotel. This role requires strong technical knowledge of kitchen equipment, preventive maintenance practices, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to ensure smooth and uninterrupted hotel operations.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain kitchen appliances and equipment.

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and basic refrigeration-related faults in kitchen equipment.
• Attend emergency breakdowns and restore equipment to operational condition as quickly as possible.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance according to the hotel's maintenance schedule.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
• Carry out basic electrical works, including checking wiring, switches, sockets, contactors, relays, thermostats, and control panels.
• Check and maintain gas-operated kitchen equipment and identify leaks or operational issues, coordinating with qualified specialists when required.
• Conduct regular checks of refrigeration and temperature-controlled equipment.
• Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts, and equipment breakdowns.
• Coordinate with the Kitchen and F&B teams regarding equipment issues and maintenance requirements.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by hotel departments.
• Assist with the installation, commissioning, and replacement of new kitchen equipment.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly maintained and stored.
• Follow hotel health, safety, hygiene, and fire-safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with hotel standards and UAE safety regulations.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area after completing maintenance activities.
• Perform any other duties related to engineering and maintenance as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / ITI / Technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience as a Kitchen Technician, Kitchen Equipment Technician, or similar role.
• Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment is preferred.
• Good knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of gas-operated kitchen equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read basic electrical wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Basic electrical and mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to identify equipment faults quickly and accurately.
