Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in similar role in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
• Ability to follow recipes, standard operating procedures, and chef instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of proper food storage and stock rotation practices (FIFO).
• Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables; weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and checklists.
• Prepare and serve cold foods; operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to determine if cooked sufficiently and monitor quality during preparation.
• Set up and break down work station; wash and disinfect kitchen area and tools.
• Check and ensure correct temperature of appliances and food.
