Job summary

Anantara Downtown Dubai is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC and boiler systems, ensuring reliable operation of critical plant within a luxury hotel.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, uphold HACCP and health & safety records, supervise the maintenance team and external contractors, and contribute to energy conservation initiatives for guest comfort and operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, chilled water systems, pumps and boilers, including testing and maintenance.
• Attend to, repair and maintain refrigeration equipment, walk-in coolers, freezers and ovens.
• Ensure HACCP standards and Health & Safety records are logged and maintained.
• Be on call for equipment/plant emergencies and carry out PPM checks.
• Carry out all air-conditioning and refrigeration system management and servicing.
• Participate in the hotel’s energy conservation and sustainability programs.
• Attend on-the-job training in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
• Supervise the issue of tools and ensure their safe return; manage contractors on site.
• Maintain safety inductions, records of all jobs undertaken, and monitor utility readings.
• Be part of the Fire Team and assist in emergencies; ensure timely deliveries and deadlines.

• Responsible for kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, chilled water systems, pumps, and boilers, including testing and maintenance.
• Attend to, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk-in coolers, freezers, ovens, etc.
• Ensure HACCP standards and Health & Safety legislation records are logged and maintained.
• Be on call for any equipment/plant emergencies and carry out PPM checks.
• Carry out all air-conditioning and refrigeration system management and servicing.
• Participate in the hotel’s energy conservation and sustainability programs.
• Attend all on-the-job training in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
• Supervise the issue of tools relating to the Engineering Department and ensure their safe return.
• Be responsible for contractors working on site, including safety induction and maintaining records of all jobs undertaken.
• Accept deliveries in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Supervise the maintenance team and any external contractors employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work.
• Ensure that all Health & Safety records are kept up to date.
• Form part of the Fire Team and assist in any emergencies that may arise.
• Monitor utility readings for the hotel to ensure effective power management.
• Stay aware of changes in regulations and environmental issues.
• Carry out other work that may reasonably be required and be available as needed.
• Oversee the team’s and contractors’ work to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to the required standard.
