Job summary

Anantara Downtown Dubai is seeking an on-site Maintenance Engineer to manage and perform routine maintenance on the hotel's kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, and boilers. The role includes testing, repairs, and adherence to HACCP and Health & Safety standards.

You will oversee the maintenance team and external contractors, participate in energy management and sustainability programs, and respond to equipment emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk‑in coolers, freezers, ovens, and related systems.
• Monitor and service air‑conditioning and refrigeration equipment on site.
• Ensure HACCP standards and Health & Safety regulations are logged and followed.
• Be on call for equipment/plant emergencies and perform preventive maintenance checks.
• Supervise maintenance team and external contractors, ensuring safety inductions and proper records.

• Responsible for kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, chilled water systems, pumps, and boilers, including testing and maintenance.
• Attend to, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk‑in coolers, freezers, ovens, etc.
• Ensure HACCP standards and Health & Safety legislation records are logged and maintained.
• Be on call for any equipment/plant emergencies and carry out PPM checks.
• Carry out all air‑conditioning and refrigeration system management and servicing.
• Participate in the hotel’s energy conservation and sustainability programs.
• Attend all on‑the‑job training in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
• Supervise the issue of tools relating to the Engineering Department and ensure their safe return.
• Be responsible for contractors working on site, including safety induction and maintaining records of all jobs undertaken.
• Accept deliveries in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Supervise the maintenance team and any external contractors employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work.
• Ensure that all Health & Safety records are kept up to date.
• Form part of the Fire Team and assist in any emergencies that may arise.
• Monitor utility readings for the hotel to ensure effective power management.
• Stay aware of changes in regulations and environmental issues.
• Carry out other work that may reasonably be required and be available as needed.
• Oversee the team’s and contractors’ work to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to the required standard.
