Job summary

GINCO Cont. Co. LLC in Sharjah, UAE, is seeking a Civil Quality Control Engineer to support field teams on rebar formwork, blockwork and plaster inspections, and to assist consultants during visits.

You will draft and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), attach drawings and method statements, and monitor concrete sampling, slump tests and curing temperatures in line with ASTM/BS standards. 2-4 years UAE QC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (attested with equivalency & MOFA).
• 2–4 years quality control experience in UAE civil construction.
• Familiarity with UAE building codes and standard construction testing protocols (ASTM/BS).
• Valid UAE Driving License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist QA/QC engineers in preliminary checks on rebar, formwork, blockwork and plaster.
• Draft and submit WIRs; attach drawings, method statements and checklists.
• Monitor on-site concrete sampling, cube casting, slump testing and curing tank temps.
• Track test results for 7- and 28-day compressive strength; flag deficiencies.
• Verify delivered materials against samples and delivery notes.
• Conduct snagging inspections on finishing works and prepare punch lists.
• Maintain quality archives: WIRs, test certificates and photos.

Responsibilities

• Inspection Assistance Assist QA QC Engineers in carrying out preliminary checks on rebar formwork blockwork and plaster prior to consultant visits
• WIR Drafting & Submission Draft Work Inspection Requests WIRs and ensure all required drawings method statements and checklists are attached
• Field Concrete Sampling Monitor on-site concrete cube casting slump testing and curing tank water temperatures in line with ASTM BS standards
• Testing Log Tracking Track laboratory compressive strength test results 7-day and 28-day and flag any strength deficiencies immediately
• Material Verification Assist in checking delivered site materials against approved material sample boards and delivery notes
• Snagging Inspections Conduct preliminary snagging inspections on finishing works and compile punch lists for site engineers
• Quality Archive Maintenance File and archive all approved WIRs test certificates and inspection photos in both digital and hard copy formats

Qualifications

• Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (attested with equivalency & MOFA); 2-4 years quality control experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with UAE building codes and standard construction testing protocols (ASTM / BS).
• Professional Licenses / Certifications: Valid UAE Driving License preferred.
• Required UAE / GCC Construction Experience: 2-4 years in UAE civil construction handling structural and finishing works.
