Job Snapshot: The Junior Engineer - Dry Utilities supports the design development of power, telecom, and related dry utilities infrastructure for large‑scale projects across the EMEA region. The role contributes to accurate engineering calculations, coordinated drawings, quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, design reports, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare design calculations and engineering drawings for dry utilities networks, including power, telecom, and associated infrastructure systems.
- Support senior engineers in day-to-day design tasks for major infrastructure and utilities projects.
- Develop electrical engineering computations for HV, MV, and LV network design in line with project requirements and approved standards.
- Prepare material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, design documentation, and technical inputs required for project submissions.
- Assist in conventional and basic electrical engineering assignments using standard engineering theories, procedures, and industry codes.
- Apply local and international standards during the preparation of dry utilities designs, calculations, reports, and drawings.
- Use CAE and CAD tools to support design development, coordination, review, and technical production.
- Provide technical guidance to CAD designers and drafters during drawing preparation and design coordination.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, authority compliance, and alignment with design intent.
- Support design requirements for primary substations, 132‑11 kV systems, HV corridors, distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars, MV systems up to 33 kV, and LV networks.
- Assist in preparing clear engineering reports, design notes, calculations, and technical summaries for internal and client review.
- Coordinate dry utilities design interfaces with civil, infrastructure, road, landscape, and other engineering disciplines.
- Work within Civil3D, Navisworks, and BIM environments to support coordinated infrastructure design.
- Follow applicable codes and standards, including National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, IEC, and relevant GCC authority requirements.
- Support project compliance with DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, SEC, MEDC, Civil Defense, and other local authority standards when applicable.
- Contribute to design quality, document control, technical accuracy, and timely delivery of assigned engineering tasks.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in dry utilities network design.
- Recent experience in HV, MV, and LV electrical design using local and international standards.
- Infrastructure engineering background with exposure to major infrastructure projects.
- Practical understanding of primary substations 132‑11 kV, HV corridors, distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars, MV systems up to 33kV, and LV networks.
- Strong ability to prepare calculations, review drawings, support design reports, and assist with technical documentation.
- Good knowledge of National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, IEC, and GCC authority standards.
- Familiarity with authority requirements from DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, SEC, MEDC, Civil Defense, and related utility stakeholders.
- Experience using Civil3D, Navisworks, and BIM-based design coordination environments.
- ETAP software experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in MSExcel for calculations, schedules, quantity checks, and technical tracking.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow engineering procedures and produce accurate design deliverables.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with senior engineers, CAD teams, and multidisciplinary project members.

Compensation
Estimated salary range: 9,000–14,000AED per month.
