Assistant Resident Engineer – Dry Utilities is a Civil Engineering opportunity for an experienced site engineering professional with strong knowledge of dry utility systems, MEP coordination, construction supervision, quality assurance, testing, commissioning, CAD, BIM, and UAE regulatory requirements. This role supports major infrastructure and transportation projects by assisting the Resident Engineer with daily site coordination, technical inspections, contractor follow‑up, documentation control, and safe delivery of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection utility works.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising dry utilities works across infrastructure and construction project areas.
- Support inspection, testing and commissioning activities for dry utility systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and fire protection installations.
- Monitor daily site activities related to utility works and prepare accurate site reports, progress updates, inspection notes and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, inspectors and project teams to support timely and compliant installation of utility systems.
- Review work against approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, inspection plans and applicable UAE building codes.
- Analyze technical drawings, shop drawings, BIM models and coordination layouts to identify clashes, missing information or utility interface risks.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and verify that utility works meet approved design requirements, installation standards and project quality expectations.
- Maintain organized records of inspections, test results, certificates, material approvals, site instructions, correspondence and contractor submissions.
- Support the Resident Engineer in resolving technical site issues, coordination conflicts, construction delays and non‑conforming works.
- Follow up on corrective actions and confirm that approved solutions are implemented properly by contractors.
- Participate in site meetings, coordination reviews, progress discussions and technical workshops with project stakeholders.
- Assist in reviewing as‑built documentation, test records, commissioning files, authority‑related documents and project closeout materials.
- Verify that dry utility works are safely executed in active construction environments and comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Support interface coordination between dry utilities, wet utilities, roadworks, structures, architectural works and MEP systems.
- Track construction progress, inspection status, testing requirements and documentation gaps to help maintain project schedule performance.
- Provide practical site feedback to engineers and project leadership when drawings, specifications or site conditions require clarification.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer or similar on‑site engineering role.
- Strong understanding of dry utilities systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and related MEP services.
- Knowledge of MEP coordination, construction management practices, site supervision methods and quality assurance procedures.
- Experience in construction site inspection, technical documentation, testing coordination and contractor monitoring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, coordination layouts and project documents.
- Proficiency with CAD and BIM software for reviewing design information, coordination models and utility layouts.
- Familiarity with UAE building codes, Dubai authority standards, regulatory requirements and construction site procedures.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage inspection records, site reports, project correspondence and documentation requirements.
- Good communication skills for working with contractors, consultants, engineers, suppliers, inspectors and project stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, practical problem‑solving ability and confidence in identifying site issues before they affect quality or progress.

Salary
Estimated salary range: 18,000 – 28,000 AED per month. Actual compensation to be confirmed with the employer.
