Job summary

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Dubai seeks a non-management chef to prepare meals to recipes and quality standards. You will regulate oven temperatures, thaw frozen items, and ensure accurate portions and attractive presentation.

You will maintain food logs and help the team during busy periods. As part of the kitchen team, you’ll inform the Chef of excess items for specials and keep F&B staff updated on menu changes.

Qualifications

• Prepare meals according to recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain proper temperature and handling of ingredients.
• Ensure portion sizes, presentation and garnish meet standards.
• Maintain and log food safety and quality checks.
• Communicate needs during busy periods and assist team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.
• Maintain food logs.
• Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared.
• Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
• Inform F&B staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods.
