Job summary

Westin Hotels & Resorts in Dubai Marina is seeking a full-time Kitchen/Prep Cook to support our culinary team. You will prepare ingredients, portion and store food, and ensure recipes and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities include operating ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers; testing doneness; maintaining food safety and cleanliness; and upholding professional appearance and company policies. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience are required.

• At least 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
• Monitor food quality while preparing food.
• Set-up and break down work station.
• Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
