Job summary

InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa is seeking a Commis I to join the Employee Restaurant culinary team. You will help prepare quality meals for colleagues and support senior chefs in daily production, maintaining hygiene and accurate stock control.

The role requires a culinary qualification or relevant kitchen experience, ability to lift up to 50lbs, and strong teamwork and communication skills. Various shifts, weekends, and holidays are expected.

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification or relevant kitchen operations experience.
• Good basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a busy culinary team.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking food according to established recipes and instructions.
• Supporting the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily food production.
• Preparing mise en place according to daily meal requirements.
• Checking ingredients and making sure food is stored correctly.
• Following proper stock rotation and FIFO procedures.
• Checking refrigerators, freezers and food storage areas.
• Maintaining consistent food quality and portioning.
• Keeping your workstation, kitchen equipment and surrounding areas clean and organised.
• Following food safety, hygiene and health standards at all times.
• Supporting other kitchen sections whenever needed.
