Job summary

ALEC Engineering and Contracting L.L.C. (ALEC) is seeking a BIM Coordinator in Abu Dhabi to drive multidisciplinary BIM coordination across ICT, ELV, AV, Security, and Smart Systems.

You will implement BIM standards, develop high-quality models, and lead coordination activities with project teams. Ideal candidates will have 7+ years in BIM coordination on construction projects, strong Revit/Navisworks skills, BEP/ISO 19650 knowledge, and excellent stakeholder management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years' BIM coordination experience on construction projects.
• Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, ACC, and BIM 360.
• Knowledge of BEP, ISO 19650, and CDE.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models and clash detection.
• Experience with MEP/ELV systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project BIM Manager in implementing BIM standards and BEP.
• Develop and maintain BIM models for ICT, ELV, AV, Security, and Smart Systems.
• Create and manage Revit families and templates.
• Ensure models comply with project requirements and ISO 19650.
• Lead model coordination, clash detection, and RFI support.
• Publish models through ACC, BIM 360, and CDE.
• Coordinate with consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Produce BIM reports, take-offs, schedules, and asset information.
• Mentor junior BIM Modelers where required.

As a BIM Coordinator, you’ll support the successful implementation of BIM and Information Management processes across our technology and ELV projects. Working closely with the BIM Manager and project teams, you’ll coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models, drive collaboration, ensure compliance with BIM standards, and help deliver projects efficiently throughout their lifecycle.

Your Role

• Assist the Project BIM Manager in implementing project BIM standards, Information Management workflows, and digital delivery processes for ELV systems.
• Develop, coordinate, and maintain high-quality BIM models for ICT, ELV, AV, Security, and Smart Systems.
• Create and manage discipline-specific Revit families, templates, and BIM content libraries.
• Ensure BIM models comply with project requirements, company BIM standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and ISO 19650 principles.
• Lead model coordination activities, including clash detection, issue tracking, coordination meetings, and RFI support.
• Publish, update, and distribute coordinated BIM models and deliverables through Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, and the Common Data Environment (CDE).
• Coordinate with consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure models align with construction methodologies and installation sequences.
• Produce BIM reports, quantity take-offs, schedules, asset information, and other project deliverables.
• Support the development of as-built models, asset registers, and project handover documentation.
• Perform model quality assurance checks and drive continuous improvement of BIM processes and workflows.
• Identify constructability issues and provide practical, model-based solutions.
• Support and mentor junior BIM Modelers where required.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
• Minimum 7 years' experience in BIM coordination within construction projects, with strong exposure to ELV and/or MEP systems.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, and other BIM coordination platforms.
• Solid understanding of BIM standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), ISO 19650, Common Data Environments (CDE), and Information Management principles.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models, performing clash detection, and managing project BIM deliverables.
• Knowledge of current MEP and ELV system design and construction practices.
• Experience producing quantity take-offs, BIM reports, and asset information deliverables.
• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and meeting project deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Desirable

• Experience with Revizto, Synchro, or other 4D planning and coordination platforms.
• Experience developing BIM content libraries and templates.
• Previous experience coaching or mentoring junior BIM professionals.
