Job summary

Confidential Construction in Abu Dhabi is seeking an IT Support Technician to deliver day-to-day IT support across our UAE operations, with initial placement at a construction site in Abu Dhabi to assist site personnel with computers, connectivity, and printers.

The role includes setting up IT during mobilisations, office moves and demobilisations, and occasional travel to other UAE locations to support IT installations and fault resolution.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of IT support experience in a business environment.
• Experience supporting laptops, desktops, peripherals and Windows 11.
• Know-how of TCP/IP, IP addressing, DHCP and DNS.
• Hands-on LAN cabling and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting printers, scanners and multifunction devices.
• English proficiency; diploma or vocational IT qualification preferred.
• Experience at construction sites or multiple locations is a plus.
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals.
• Support Windows 11 installations and standard business apps.
• Troubleshoot LAN, Internet and Wi-Fi connectivity with DNS/DHCP.
• Support switches, routers, Wi‑Fi APs and VLAN basics.
• Assist with LAN cabling, termination and testing.
• Maintain IT asset records and inventory checks.
• Respond to user requests and document troubleshooting through to resolution.
• Coordinate IT installation/disconnection during site mobilisation and moves.

Job description

We are looking for an IT Support Technician to provide day-to-day IT support across our UAE operations.

The role will initially be based at one of our construction sites in Abu Dhabi supporting site personnel with computers, network connectivity, printing devices and other IT equipment.

The position will also support IT setup during site mobilisation, office moves and demobilisation, with occasional travel to other company locations in the UAE as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations and peripherals
• Support Windows 11 installation, configuration, updates, drivers and standard business applications
• Troubleshoot LAN, internet and Wi-Fi connectivity, including IP addressing, DHCP and DNS issue
• Support managed switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points and basic VLAN configuration
• Assist with LAN cabling, termination, patching and cable testing
• Install and troubleshoot networked printers, copiers and scanners
• Maintain IT asset records, including equipment assignments, transfers, repairs, returns and inventory checks
• Respond to user support requests, document troubleshooting activities and follow issues through to resolution
• Support IT installation and disconnection during site mobilisation, office moves and demobilisation
• Coordinate with the central IT team and external service providers where escalation or additional support is required

Job Requirements

• 1-4 years of practical IT support experience in a business environment
• Experience supporting laptops, desktops, peripherals and Windows 11
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addressing, DHCP and DNS
• Hands-on exposure to LAN cabling and network troubleshooting
• Experience supporting printers, scanners and other multifunction devices
• Ability to maintain accurate IT equipment and asset records
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and recognise when an issue needs to be escalated
• Professional working proficiency in English
• A diploma or vocational qualification in IT, networking or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience supporting construction sites, engineering environments or multiple locations would be an advantage.
• A valid UAE driving licence would also be an advantage due to occasional travel between company locations.
