Job summary

The Lana in Dubai, part of the Dorchester Collection, seeks an IT Specialist to ensure seamless guest connectivity and robust IT operations across hotel applications and networks. You will be the primary IT contact for guest IT issues, maintaining systems to the Dorchester Collection standards and supporting critical services around the clock.

With a Diploma in IT and certifications like CCNA and Microsoft, you will contribute to a luxury guest experience, while leveraging our learning academy

Qualifications

• Diploma in IT or related field; CCNA and Microsoft Certification desirable.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity in luxury hotels in the Middle East.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; fluent English.
• Ability to troubleshoot guest-facing technologies and maintain IT systems.
• Knowledge of Opera, Simphony, Call Accounting, HSIA and POS systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure seamless guest connectivity and zero downtime for IT systems during stays.
• Serve as first IT contact for guest IT issues and address priority tickets.
• Maintain hotel applications and networks per Dorchester Collection standards.
• Enforce IT policies and periodically monitor compliance.
• Support key systems (Opera, Simphony, Call Accounting, HSIA, PABX, POS) 24/7.
• Provide desktop OS and application support including patches.
• Monitor and close IT Helpdesk tickets by priority.
• Manage backups and inform IT Manager of issues.
• Assist guests with on-stay IT needs.
• Follow Planned Preventive Maintenance for telecom rooms and document records.

What You'll Do

• You will be responsible for most memorable experience and give seamless connectivity to the Guest during their stay and make sure all the system is working without any downtime to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• You will be the first point of contact for any IT related Guest complaints and make sure that it is attended to on top priority.
• You need to make sure all the Hotel applications and computer networks are working as per Dorchester Collection standard.
• To make sure that everyone follows all Dorchester Collection IT policies and procedures and monitors them periodically.
• Assist in ensuring critical systems, specifically Opera, Simphony, Call Accounting, HSIA, PABX and Food & Beverage Point of Sales computer systems are available twenty-four (24) hours per day.
• Hands-on experience in support for Desktop OS and applications including patches.
• Monitor the IT Helpdesk calls and close them on a priority basis.
• You need to make sure all the backups are completed as per the schedule and inform the IT Manager in case there are any issues.
• Assist the Guest if there is any support or assistance during the stay.
• You need to follow the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to all the telecom rooms in the hotel and update the record accordingly.

• Understanding the Guest facing technologies and troubleshooting.
• Previous experience within the luxury hotel industry is advantageous.
