This role supports complex EPC and energy project delivery by managing Hexagon S3D project environments, resolving designer issues, supporting project deliverables, and improving the reliability of engineering design systems used across multi‑discipline teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day administration support for Hexagon S3D projects, including project setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and delivery support.
• Set up new S3D project environments, manage system hierarchy, restore databases, configure permission groups, and maintain project administration standards.
• Create and maintain S3D catalogs for piping, equipment, electrical, instrumentation, and structural disciplines.
• Develop piping specifications and catalog content with a strong understanding of piping rules, class structures, and engineering requirements.
• Create symbols, labels, view styles, reports, custom commands, and project‑specific configuration elements.
• Customize piping isometrics, including labels, output settings, and related isometric deliverable requirements.
• Create GA drawing view styles for piping, electrical, instrumentation, and structural design outputs.
• Develop reports using S3D interfaces, class relationships, and COM‑based reporting tools.
• Support advanced report creation using VB.Net or C# where required.
• Develop custom commands using C# and VB.Net to improve design workflows, automation, and project efficiency.
• Configure GWC settings and support project‑specific S3D setup requirements.
• Create and manage interference setup, codeless interference rules, naming rules, filters, surface style rules, and review files.
• Generate and support review files for SPR and Navisworks coordination activities.
• Manage SQL and Oracle servers and databases related to S3D administration and project support.
• Troubleshoot designer issues related to modelling procedures, catalog behavior, permissions, interference checks, database access, reports, and project configuration.
• Develop and share best practices for S3D modelling, system usage, project administration, and engineering data quality.
• Support functional testing of S3D application configurations, customizations, reports, and project workflows.
• Work with engineering teams to understand business unit processes, project execution needs, and discipline‑specific design requirements.
• Coordinate with users, designers, IT teams, application support teams, and project stakeholders to resolve technical and system‑related issues.
• Support delivery of project deliverables by ensuring S3D environments, catalogs, reports, and administrative settings remain reliable and aligned with project needs.
• Apply knowledge of current systems technology, tools, and processes to improve application performance and user productivity.
• Support integration awareness across S3D and related engineering platforms, including AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA Net, AVEVA AIM, AVEVA 3D, or other SmartPlant tools where applicable.
• Maintain clear documentation of configuration changes, troubleshooting actions, system updates, and project‑specific administration practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering application administration, design system workflows, and project data management.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
• 5 to 15 years of experience in S3D administration.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Hexagon Smart 3D project setup, administration, configuration, customization, and support.
• Good understanding of engineering practices, EPC project execution concepts, and multi‑discipline design workflows.
• Strong knowledge of S3D catalog creation, piping specifications, piping rules, equipment catalogs, electrical catalogs, instrumentation catalogs, and structural catalog setup.
• Experience with isometric customization, view style creation, report creation, symbol creation, and custom command development.
• Strong understanding of S3D interfaces, class relationships, and database‑driven project structures.
• Experience creating reports using COM is required.
• Report development using VB.Net or C# will be an advantage.
• Hands‑on experience with C# and VB.Net custom command development.
• Good knowledge of GWC configuration, database restoration, permission groups, system hierarchy setup, naming rules, filters, interference rules, and review file generation.
• Ability to manage SQL and Oracle servers and databases used for engineering application environments.
• Strong troubleshooting ability for designer issues, modelling procedures, application behavior, and project configuration problems.
• Working knowledge of the business units or processes supported by S3D and related engineering applications.
• In‑depth understanding of AVEVA 3D or other SmartPlant tools.
• Knowledge of AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA Net, or AVEVA AIM will be an added advantage.
• Ability to conduct functional testing of application setups, customizations, workflows, and outputs.
