Job summary

ALEC Holdings PJSC is seeking an IT Engineer to provide hands-on technical support, manage end-user devices, and drive operational excellence across construction sites and offices in the UAE.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in IT operations or end-user support.
• At least 3+ years in an end-user support or IT operations role.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and modern device management.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IT support for devices, connectivity, and applications.
• Manage laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and collaboration tools.
• Ensure video conferencing and meeting room technologies function reliably.

About Your Team

Our IT team plays a critical role in supporting project delivery by providing dependable onsite and remote technology services across our operational sites. From end-user support and device management to collaboration tools and connectivity solutions, we work closely with employees and site management to ensure seamless IT operations, enabling teams to perform at their best in a fast-paced environment.

Your Role

As an IT Engineer, you will

• Delivers immediate and proactive assistance for all IT-related issues (devices, connectivity, applications), minimizing downtime for site users.
• Manages laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and collaboration tools to ensure they are always optimized, updated, and ready for use.
• Ensures seamless functioning of video conferencing, presentations, and meeting room technology, avoiding delays during critical meetings.
• Provides secure and reliable access to systems for site staff working across offices and remote site locations.
• Maintains strict handling of company data with appropriate security controls and discretion, reducing risk of data breaches.
• Identifies and resolves potential issues before they impact site operations, ensuring uninterrupted workflow.
• Supplements the Service Desk team by handling escalated tickets, contributing to the general queue during peak periods, and supporting colleagues across IT operations.
• Acts as a trusted, approachable point of contact for site staff and management, demonstrating professionalism and the ability to communicate technical matters in non-technical terms.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and/or responsibilities as required by management, to meet the needs of the business.

What We’re Looking For

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in troubleshooting IT software and hardware issues across end-user and infrastructure environments.
• Confident and professional demeanor when engaging with site management, staff, and project stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Intune, and modern workplace technologies.
• Hands-on experience with meeting room AV systems, video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom), and presentation technology.
• Ability to work independently, priorities competing demands, and exercise sound judgement under pressure.
• Experience providing IT support on construction or project sites.
• Managing and maintaining IOS and Android devices
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi and LAN troubleshooting).
• ITIL V4 Certified

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience and/or
• 3+ years in an end-user support or IT operations role
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and modern device management.
