Job summary

ALEC Technologies in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks an experienced AV Engineer to lead design, installation and commissioning of large-scale audiovisual systems for iconic projects. You will work with media servers, control systems and networked AV devices to deliver immersive environments.

The role requires 5+ years in AV installations, strong problem-solving, and collaboration with architects, content teams and wiring specialists to ensure safe, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Media Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in large-scale AV, immersive, or projection-based installations.
• Proficiency with media servers (Notch/Watchout/Disguise) and AV control systems (Crestron/Q-SYS/AMX).
• Experience with projection mapping, LED dome systems, and spatial audio setups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of complex AV systems, including LED displays, projection domes, and immersive media environments.
• Collaborate with media architects, lighting designers, and content teams to create synchronized audio-visual experiences.
• Program and operate media servers, control systems, and networked AV devices.
• Troubleshoot real-time AV issues during testing and live events.
• Ensure AV systems are scalable, maintainable, and meet safety and technical standards.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contractors.

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency with media servers (e.g., Notch, Watchout, Disguise) and AV control systems (Crestron, Q-SYS, AMX).
• Experience with projection mapping, LED dome systems, and spatial audio setups.
• Strong understanding of networked AV systems, signal routing, and video/audio troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Top Skills

• Experience with large-scale venues or entertainment installations (e.g., arenas, theaters, concert venues).
• Knowledge of interactive or real-time content systems.
• Familiarity with 3D visualization and content pipelines for immersive environments.
