Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject, Education, Engineering, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
• MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring academically advanced students.
• Strong subject expertise in at least one competition area.
• Familiarity with advanced problem-solving and competition-style assessment.

We are seeking a highly motivated and academically accomplished International Academic Competitions Tutorto prepare gifted, high-achieving, and ambitious students for local and international academic competitions.

The successful candidate will provide advanced, personalised coaching in one or more specialist areas, including mathematics, science, coding, robotics, English, writing, spelling, debate, public speaking, geography, history, economics, business, critical thinking, or general knowledge. Lessons should extend beyond the standard curriculum and develop subject mastery, strategic thinking, accuracy, speed, confidence, and competition readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Assess students’ academic strengths, competition experience, and preparation needs

Develop personalised competition-preparation plans based on entry requirements and timelines

Deliver advanced one-to-one or small-group coaching in the tutor’s specialist subject

Prepare students for national, regional, and international academic competitions

Teach advanced concepts, competition strategies, time management, and problem-solving techniques

Use previous competition papers, challenge questions, simulations, and mock rounds

Develop logical reasoning, analytical thinking, creativity, accuracy, and mental flexibility

Support students preparing for mathematics Olympiads, science Olympiads, coding contests, spelling bees, essay competitions, debates, quizzes, and similar events

Help learners interpret complex questions and select efficient solution strategies

Build confidence and resilience under timed or competitive conditions

Track progress, identify performance patterns, and adjust preparation plans

Advise students and parents on suitable competitions based on age, level, and academic interests

Support team-based preparation where competitions require collaboration

Encourage ethical participation, academic integrity, and positive sportsmanship

Collaborate with Simone’s Tutoring subject specialists to provide multidisciplinary preparation

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in the relevant academic subject, Education, Engineering, Computer Science, Humanities, or a related field

MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring academically advanced students

Strong subject expertise in at least one competition area

Familiarity with advanced problem-solving and competition-style assessment

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or advanced professional qualification in the relevant subject

PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or recognised teaching qualification

Previous participation in or coaching experience for international academic competitions

Experience preparing students for Olympiads, academic bowls, spelling bees, coding competitions, essay contests, debate tournaments, or similar events

Record of student placements, awards, distinctions, or finalist results

Training or experience in gifted and talented education

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.
