Job summary

Star Services in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced instrumentation and control technician for offshore maintenance. You will calibrate and overhaul field instruments and control valves, record data, and respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.

The role requires 7+ years in oil and gas maintenance, strong PLC/DCS troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work on site with an offshore crew. Contract hire with 6‑month probation; UAE labour laws apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering required.
• 7+ years in maintenance of field instruments and control systems in oil & gas.
• Contract Hire with six months probation under UAE ABU DHABI Labour Law.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and overhaul control valves and field instruments; record calibration data.
• Attend breakdowns and perform corrective actions per procedures.
• Carry out preventive maintenance at all plant locations to ensure operations.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, hydraulic control, and electro‑mechanical controllers.
• Perform testing, maintenance, installation, inspection, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Check instrument materials stock for emergencies in warehouse.
• Assist startup and commissioning after maintenance to resume operations.

Job Description

• Conduct calibration and overhauling work for the control valves and field instruments, record all data calibration report for future references


• Attend to breakdowns and perform corrective actions, ensuring adherence to procedures


• Carryout preventive maintenance activities at all plant locations according to defined schedules to facilitate uninterrupted operations


• Carry out troubleshooting on PLC, DCS, Hydraulic Control, Electro-Mechanical and other controllers of the control systems.


• Conduct troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, installation, inspection, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and operation support.


• Check all Instrument materials about the quantity for emergency purposes in the warehouse.


• Assists in equipment start up and commissioning after maintenance activity is completed to ensure smooth recommencing of operations.
