Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, and related works during construction.
• Review contract documents and approved drawings before inspections.

• Monitor contractor activities for compliance with methods, quality, safety and specs.
• Check workmanship and identify deficiencies needing corrective action.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, and associated civil infrastructure works throughout construction.
• Review contract documents, approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and relevant contractor submissions before inspecting work.
• Perform routine site supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Monitor contractor activities and verify compliance with approved construction methods, quality requirements, safety procedures, and project specifications.
• Check construction workmanship and identify deficiencies or deviations requiring corrective action.
• Prepare accurate daily reports covering work progress, site activities, material deliveries, inspections, observations, and significant construction events.
• Conduct field measurements and surveying checks to verify pipe alignments, elevations, levels, and other specified dimensional requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, survey teams, and other stakeholders to resolve field issues without unnecessary disruption to progress.
• Apply project quality control procedures consistently and maintain supporting inspection evidence.
• Verify relevant material information and confirm that construction activities use approved materials in accordance with project requirements.
• Assist with technical correspondence associated with site conditions, contract requirements, inspection findings, and construction activities.
• Monitor start-up, commissioning, completion, and handover activities and maintain records of important project milestones.
