Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Inspector in Dubai to manage day-to-day inspection of stormwater drainage pumping stations and related infrastructure. You will ensure works meet shop drawings, specifications and QA/QC/HSE requirements, coordinating with Senior/Resident Engineers to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include supervising installations, verifying conformity, recording tests, and maintaining documentation and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in supervision and inspection of electrical and mechanical works for stormwater drainage or pumping station projects.
• Proven experience in installation testing and commissioning of pumps, valves, control panels, switchgear and mechanical systems.
• Prior UAE experience, especially in Dubai under RTA and DM standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office and testing documentation tools.

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical installations including pumps, motors, control panels, cabling and piping.
• Verify that installations are performed per approved drawings, method statements and specifications.
• Monitor and record installation alignment, testing, and commissioning of pumping station systems.
• Inspect cable routing, earthing, and control wiring for code compliance.
• Supervise mechanical piping networks, valves, fittings and supports for stormwater infrastructure.
• Witness and document testing and commissioning activities and ensure QA/QC procedures are followed.

Job Summary:

The Electrical / Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for day-to-day inspection and supervision of electrical and mechanical installation works related to stormwater drainage systems pumping stations and associated infrastructure. The role ensures that all works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings technical specifications and quality standards maintaining compliance with RTA DM and AECOMs QA/QC and HSE requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical installations including pumps motors control panels cabling piping valves and related systems.
• Verify that all installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings method statements and specifications.
• Monitor and record the installation alignment and testing of pumping station mechanical and electrical systems.
• Inspect cable routing containment systems termination earthing and control wiring ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
• Supervise installation of mechanical piping networks valves fittings and support systems for stormwater infrastructure.
• Ensure that all electrical and mechanical materials and equipment are approved stored and handled as per specifications.
• Witness and record testing and commissioning activities including insulation resistance continuity performance tests and functional verification.
• Monitor HVAC lighting power control and instrumentation works in pumping stations and utility structures.
• Verify as-built data coordinate with the contractor for redline updates and ensure accuracy of final documentation.
• Ensure that all QA/QC procedures inspection requests (IRs) and ITPs are followed and properly documented.
• Assist the Senior Engineers and Resident Engineer in issuing site observations and NCRs and verifying the contractors corrective actions.
• Check calibration certificates and testing instruments used by the contractor to ensure compliance.
• Monitor HSE practices during electrical and mechanical activities ensuring safety compliance at all times.
• Record and report daily manpower equipment usage and material deliveries relevant to M&E works.
• Participate in coordination meetings and liaise with other disciplines to resolve interface issues.

Qualifications :

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in supervision and inspection of electrical and mechanical works for stormwater drainage or pumping station projects.
• Proven experience in installation testing and commissioning of pumps valves control panels switchgear and mechanical systems.
• Prior UAE experience especially within Dubai working under RTA and DM standards.
• Familiarity with microtunneling interface works and associated pumping station systems is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures inspection checklists and testing protocols.
• Excellent documentation coordination and communication skills with a proactive and safety-focused approach.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Certification in construction supervision or QA/QC inspection is an advantage.
• Knowledge of international standards (IEC NFPA ASHRAE) and local authority regulations (RTA DM DEWA Civil Defense).
• Proficient in AutoCAD MS Office and testing documentation tools.
