Job summary

KEO International in Dubai is seeking a skilled Civil Inspector to join our team. You will inspect contractor works, review shop drawings, and ensure compliance with drawings and safety standards on site in the UAE. The role requires approximately 7 years of civil engineering experience and a diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

UAE roads/infrastructure project experience is preferred. You will report findings, coordinate across disciplines, and support project delivery with

  • 7 years of work experience in civil engineering projects.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in Roads/Infrastructure projects in the UAE is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to inspections and IRs (inspection requests) submitted by the contractor and take timely action.
  • Review shop drawings against contract drawings, specs, local codes, and best practice.
  • Report work not in accordance with drawings/specifications and inform stakeholders.
  • Monitor quality and safety on site; assist with environmental issues and risk assessments.
  • Maintain site activity records, including progress photos for inspection.
  • Prepare surveillance reports for deficiencies and NCRs when needed.
  • Coordinate between discipline-related works and other disciplines; provide technical input on-site.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Civil Inspector to join our team based in Dubai, UAE.

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and taking appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
  • Reporting any works carried out by the contractor found not to be in accordance with the approved drawing and specifications, and report to stakeholders for appropriate action.
  • Monitoring quality of works and assessing the safety at the site, including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
  • Maintaining records for daily activities on site, including progress photos and ensuring they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
  • Preparing surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at the site and non-conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.
  • Checking and ensuring effective coordination between discipline-related works and all other disciplines.
  • Providing technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline-related issues on site that may arise.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 7 years of work experience partnered with a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Candidates with experience in Roads/Infrastructure related projects in the UAE are preferred.
