Job summary

We are seeking a Material Inspector – Infrastructure & Bridges to join AECOM’s project team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will inspect construction materials used for infrastructure and bridge works, verify submittals, project specifications and quality requirements to ensure compliance and safe delivery of materials to site.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil/Materials Engineering or related field, with UAE infrastructure project experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant experience as a Material Inspector on major infrastructure projects.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, specifications and standards.
• Experience with concrete, reinforcement steel, aggregates, asphalt and other infrastructure materials.
• Ability to review material submittals, certificates and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction materials delivered to site and verify compliance with submittals and project specs.
• Inspect materials for bridges, roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities, concrete and other works.
• Review certificates, test reports, data sheets and other quality documents.
• Verify material type, grade, dimensions, quantities and condition on delivery.
• Monitor material storage, handling, protection and identification at site.
• Coordinate with Contractor, laboratory, inspectors and engineers regarding inspections and testing.
• Raise and follow up on material NCRs and non-conformance issues.
• Maintain records of inspections, approvals, test results and delivery documentation.
