Job summary

Atkins Realis Group in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced automation and control engineer to design, develop, configure and implement PLC, SCADA, DCS and HMI systems along with associated instrumentation. You will review architectures and I/O lists, develop logic, interlocks and alarms, and configure SCADA/HMI setups.

You will also review drawings, support hardware selection, participate in FAT/SAT and commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to lifecycle management and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Automation or related field.
• Professional experience in automation, instrumentation, or control system engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI and industrial control systems.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols and networks (Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC).
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings and control schematics.
• FAT/SAT, system integration, testing and commissioning familiarity.
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure and implement automation and control systems including PLC SCADA DCS HMI and instrumentation.
• Prepare and review control system architecture, design specs, and IO lists.
• Develop PLC/DCS logic, interlocks, alarms and HMI/SCADA configurations.
• Review drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams and instrumentation layouts.
• Support hardware selection, instrumentation, networks and automation equipment.
• Perform FAT/SAT, commissioning and system integration testing.
• Troubleshoot and propose corrective actions; lifecycle management of automation systems.
• Maintain documentation, configuration records and as-built drawings.
