Job Description / Role:
Our client is hiring an HVAC Team Leader in Burj Khalifa, UAE. This role involves providing hands-on leadership focused on service delivery, transparency, trust, and team empowerment within a high-profile facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support an effective organizational structure with adequate manpower and clear responsibilities.
- Assist in developing and implementing systems to motivate and develop employees through training, incentives and recognition.
- Develop, guide, direct, motivate and manage direct reports in line with the performance management system.
- Assist the HVAC Engineer in managing the project professionally and maintaining a positive customer-focused environment.
- Identify employee training requirements and coordinate relevant training programs.
- Develop, implement and communicate improved processes, policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Maximize communication and coordination between engineers and maintenance teams.
- Organize and attend regular staff meetings to maintain consistent quality and working standards.
- Assist management with extra-work BOQs and follow-up of associated works.
- Ensure compliance with the site’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and HSE requirements.
- Manage and supervise staff reporting to the position.
- Approve relevant purchase requests for trade operations in the absence of the Engineer.
- Take necessary maintenance decisions during the Engineer’s absence in line with site policies and procedures.
- Coordinate trade-related issues with shift engineers and client representatives to ensure smooth operations.
- Review and approve or reject team leave requests when delegated by the Engineer.
- Coordinate preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance activities to achieve contractual KPIs and targets.
- Control, monitor and coordinate specialist subcontractors involved in HVAC service delivery.
Experience Required:
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and team supervision.
- 3-5 years of experience in a facilities management environment.
- Exposure to a multicultural working environment.
- Proven leadership and operations management experience.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
Education Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree in HVAC Engineering or equivalent experience.
Skills Required:
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC distribution networks.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC regulation and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with AHUs, OHUs, heat wheels, fans, PACs, split ACs, chillers and chilled-water networks.
- Experience with HVAC starter panels including Star-Delta, Soft Starter, DOL and VFD.
- Experience with BMS systems.
- Knowledge of control valves, sensors and programming.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience using CAFM systems for maintenance operations and follow-up.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
- Knowledge of the local supplier market.
- Preventive, Corrective & Reactive Maintenance.
- Technical Reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
