Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join a new mid-rise residential project in Abu Dhabi. ADOSH approval and NEBOSH IGC3 are mandatory, with immediate joining on a 3-month outsource contract through J10 Consulting.

Candidate should have 5+ years of construction project experience, including mid/high-rise UAE projects, and be able to manage QHSE procedures, risk assessments, and daily site safety checks.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as safety officer in main contractors with mid/high rise UAE projects

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing QHSE procedures, policies and standards in the Company QHSE Management System
• Attend QHSE meetings per Clients' and QHSE Management System requirements
• Develop/implement documented processes where needed
• Develop revisions of Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments
• Assist Head of QHSE to evaluate QHSE performances and report to Top Management
• Conduct PTW audits and accommodation inspections
• Follow up actions for identified discrepancies
• Assist in emergency drills as per the plan
• Daily checks on workshops/sites to ensure safety compliance
• Carry out QHSE refresher inductions for on-site personnel and visitors

Job description

Our Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Safety Officer to join their team in Abu Dhabi at a new mid rise residential project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Safety Officer on major mid & high rise projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Safety Officer for a Main or Civil Contracting company previously. ADOSH approval and NEBOSH IGC 3 are mandatory. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month contract as an outsource employed by J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of QHSE procedures, policies and standards that form the Company QHSE Management System, including review and possible revision
• Attending QHSE Meetings as per Clients' and QHSE Management System requirements.
• Assist relevant personnel in development/implementation of documented processes (where a need is identified).
• Assist in the development revision of Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments, wherever necessary.
• Assisting Head of QHSE to evaluate QHSE performances such as (inspections, incident, trainings, working hours etc.) and reporting to the Top Management and/or to any other relevant interested party.
• Conduct periodic PTW Audits & accommodation inspection.
• Follow up the actions for identified discrepancies.
• Assist in completing the emergency drills / exercises as per the approved Emergency Exercise Drill plan
• Daily checks on workshops, plants and work / construction sites to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Carry out QHSE refresher inductions for all the on-site personnel & Visitor induction for all the contractors & visitors visiting the project site

HSE Officer Experience

• Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related preferred
• Minimum of NEBOSH certification and 5 years of construction project experience
• ADOSH approval is mandatory
• at least 1+ years of experience as safety officer in recognised main contractors with mid and high rise project experience in the UAE.
• Ability to manage assigned areas and responsibilities.
• Strong team player with flexibility in work timings and allocations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
