Job summary

MIRA CONSTRUCTION L.L.C invites applications for an experienced Safety Officer to join our UAE construction team. The role requires hands-on site safety expertise, with strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations and risk management.

You will monitor activities, conduct inspections, and drive a culture of safety compliance across projects. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of UAE site safety experience, a related degree, and preferably NEBOSH or IOSH certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Safety/HSE experience in the UAE construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or other relevant HSE certifications preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction site safety procedures and risk management.
• Experience with site inspections, toolbox talks and safety inductions.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work systems.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and preparing HSE reports.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with site teams and subcontractors.
• familiarity with UAE construction safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, conditions and potential hazards.
• Ensure workers and subcontractors follow approved HSE procedures and site safety requirements.
• Prepare and maintain risk assessments, method statements and other HSE documentation.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and regular safety awareness sessions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences and prepare appropriate reports.
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and ensure compliance with site safety rules.
• Identify potential risks and implement control measures.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and project management regarding safety matters.
• Monitor high-risk activities and ensure permits and controls are in place.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, observations, incidents, training and corrective actions.
• Assist in emergency preparedness, drills and response procedures.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions across the site.
• Support ongoing HSE management system implementation and improvement.
• Report safety violations and follow up on corrective actions until closure.

Job description
