Job summary

Fisher HR Consultancy is seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on UAE sites, with emphasis on ADNOC requirements and permit-to-work systems. The ideal candidate will conduct inspections, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and ensure compliance with client standards and local regulations.

This role requires 3–5 years of relevant oil & gas or industrial experience, NEBOSH IGC certification, and a strong ability to manage

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC certification mandatory.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in oil & gas, construction, or industrial sector.
  • Mandatory ADNOC project experience for minimum of 2 years.
  • Strong knowledge of ADNOC HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessment processes.
  • ISO 45001 familiarity preferred.
  • Valid UAE driving license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices on site.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE standards, client specifications, and local regulations.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and ongoing safety awareness programs.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure emergency preparedness.
  • Liaise with client representatives, supervisors, and subcontractors on all HSE matters.
  • Maintain HSE documentation, inspection records, permits, and safety reports.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety compliance.

Job description

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to oversee and implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate must have prior ADNOC project experience and a strong understanding of ADNOC HSE requirements and permit-to-work systems.

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices on site.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE standards, client specifications, and local regulations.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and ongoing safety awareness programs.
  • Monitor work activities, including high-risk operations such as confined space entry, lifting activities, hot work, and working at height.
  • Participate in incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain HSE documentation, inspection records, permits, and safety reports.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety compliance.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure emergency preparedness.
  • Liaise with client representatives, supervisors, and subcontractors on all HSE matters.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field
  • NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory)
  • OSHA certification (preferred)
  • First Aid and Fire Fighting certifications (an advantage)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the oil & gas, construction, or industrial sector
  • Mandatory experience working on ADNOC projects for minimum of 2 yrs
  • Strong knowledge of ADNOC HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessment processes
  • Experience in conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and safety training
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE legislation and industry best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify hazards and implement effective control measures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Valid UAE driving license (preferred)
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards (preferred)
