Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced HSE professional to lead safety on infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. You will manage health, safety and environment programs, conduct site inductions, and drive emergency planning and incident investigations.

You will ensure adherence to UAE/Abu Dhabi HSE regulations, coordinate with clients and sub-contractors, and support project planning meetings to maintain a strong safety culture across drainage, wastewater, and rehabilitation works.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in HSE management, environmental science or equivalent.
• NEBOSH IGC level 3 mandatory and related HSE diplomas.
• Abu Dhabi Public Health Center Practitioner Course.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for site health, safety and environment management.
• Attend project planning and progress meetings; facilitate safety meetings.
• Develop and implement emergency response and preparedness plans.
• Oversee incident reporting and investigations; develop technical safety reports.
• Ensure compliance with UAE/Abu Dhabi HSE regulations and company policies.
• Maintain safety communications with subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Manage site safety induction and safety training.
• Support client liaison and ensure safety at rehabilitation and wastewater projects.

Job description

The role involves working on projects associated with Sewerage & Stormwater, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks Pumping Station, Recycling Plant and rehabilitation works. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction supervising & monitoring.

Key Accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for l site Safety health and environment management.
• Assist with the preparation of a construction health and safety plan.
• Confirm necessary documentation was submitted to the relevant authorities.
• Attend project planning meetings. Attend regular site, technical and progress meetings. Facilitate site health and safety meetings.
• Establish and maintain health and safety communication structures and systems, distribution of health and safety specific documents to sub-contractors.
• Compiling project specific emergency response and preparedness plans
• Testing the effectiveness of the emergency response plans
• Conduct site safety inductions.
• Oversee the reporting and investigation of project related incidents.
• Development of technical reports in relation to health and safety issues and communicate through presentations to diverse groups of decision makers

• Experience in infra project HSE supervision Management.
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

• Maintain the health and safety environment at workplace.
• Other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering in Health & Safety Management, Environmental Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Miscellaneous Drainage Work, Construction rehabilitation work and Wastewater background.
• NEBOSH IGC level 3 is mandatory and other HSE related Diploma certification.
• Abu Dhabi Public Health Center Practitioner Course.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly in the UAE & Abu Dhabi.
• with UAE Driving License.
