Qualifications

• Experience in environmental monitoring, waste management, pollution prevention, and reporting.

HSE Environmental Engineer – Site Projects

Job Purpose

Responsible for implementing and monitoring environmental requirements on construction sites, ensuring compliance with project requirements, UAE regulations, and applicable environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSE and environmental requirements.
• Implement the project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and HSE procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections, environmental audits, and risk assessments.
• Monitor waste management, hazardous materials, dust, noise, air quality, water pollution, and spill control.
• Ensure proper segregation, storage, handling, and disposal of construction waste.
• Monitor environmental performance and prepare HSE/environmental reports and records.
• Investigate environmental incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks, environmental awareness training, and site inductions.
• Liaise with consultants, authorities, and relevant stakeholders regarding environmental matters.
• Ensure compliance with UAE environmental regulations, permits, and project-specific requirements.
• Support HSE inspections, audits, emergency preparedness, and overall site safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, HSE, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in HSE/environmental management within construction projects.
• Strong site-based construction experience is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of UAE environmental regulations and construction HSE requirements.
• Experience in environmental monitoring, waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental reporting.
• NEBOSH/IOSH or relevant HSE certification is preferred.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently in a demanding construction site environment.
