Job summary

Azizi Developments seeks an experienced HSE professional to monitor and enforce safety standards across construction sites in the UAE. You will conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations to prevent hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role includes delivering toolbox talks, HSE inductions, and environmental management, while coordinating with contractors to uphold safe work practices. UAE-specific regulations knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Civil/Mechanical Engineering is required.
• NEBOSH IGC is mandatory for the role.
• 3–5 years of HSE experience in UAE building/construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

HSE Compliance Site Monitoring

• Implement and monitor company HSE policies, procedures and project-specific requirements
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments
• Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards and ensure timely corrective actions
• Monitor compliance with UAE HSE regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements and project-specific standards
• Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with approved HSE plans, procedures and method statements

Construction Safety

• Monitor high-risk construction activities including working at height, lifting operations, excavation, scaffolding, temporary works, confined spaces and hot works
• Ensure appropriate permits, risk assessments and method statements are in place before commencement of high-risk activities
• Monitor proper use of PPE, safety equipment and access-control measures
• Ensure site housekeeping, emergency access, signage and welfare facilities meet required standards

Incident Investigation Reporting

• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences
• Prepare incident investigation reports and recommend corrective preventive measures
• Maintain accurate HSE records, statistics and inspection reports
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly HSE reports for project management

Training Safety Awareness

• Conduct HSE inductions for employees, contractors and visitors
• Conduct toolbox talks and regular safety awareness sessions
• Promote a positive safety culture across project sites
• Monitor competency and certification requirements for operators and workers involved in high-risk activities

Environmental Management

• Monitor construction waste management, housekeeping and pollution-control measures
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental requirements
• Promote environmentally responsible construction practices

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree OR Diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. NEBOSH IGC is mandatory. Minimum 3–5 years of HSE experience, preferably in building construction/high-rise/villas residential, commercial or mixed-use developments projects in the UAE. Strong preference for candidates from main contractors, building contracting companies or real estate developers.
