Confidential in Abu Dhabi invites an HSE Engineer to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environment management systems across the College. You will promote a safe, healthy and sustainable learning and working environment for students, faculty, staff, contractors and visitors.

The role requires ensuring compliance with UAE legislation, regulatory requirements and international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, plus coordinating emergency

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance across all College activities.
• Conduct risk assessments, inspections and HSE audits of facilities to identify hazards and control them.
• Monitor compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental requirements and advise on corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents and near misses; determine root causes and track corrective actions.
• Develop, test and coordinate emergency response, business continuity and evacuation procedures and drills.
• Liaise with Civil Defense, environmental agencies and authorities on HSE matters.
• Deliver HSE induction, awareness campaigns and training sessions for staff, students and contractors.
• Inspect laboratories and storage areas to ensure safe handling and compliance with safety requirements.
• Review contractors' HSE plans and monitor activities on campus for compliance.
• Coordinate storage, handling and disposal of hazardous substances in line with regulations.
• Maintain HSE records, permits and audit documentation for governance and audits.
• Prepare periodic HSE performance reports and recommendations for management.
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste management and energy conservation.
• Assist with internal and external audits and align HSE systems with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Promote a positive safety culture by providing professional HSE guidance to all campus stakeholders.
• Monitor developments in HSE legislation and best practices and suggest policy improvements.
